This year Carols by Candlelight was amazing. So many of you came to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We hoped you liked our puppets. They only had limited time to rehearse yet they gave a fabulous performance. You will be able to watch those on YouTube here. They worked really hard.
Our brilliant singer Natalie sang a beautiful song, '"When I think upon Christmas." There were some technical issues with the music but she still carried on and did amazing. If you missed it you can watch the performance here. The lyrics were meaningful and 'for the joy of the world he was born.'
We thank Mike Sarvgon who came and summed up the true meaning of Christmas and what it's really about. He gave a memorable saying that if you take 'Christ' out of 'Christmas' you are left with 'M&S' (the shop) and he said that this is what Christmas has become. As time has gone on people have made Christmas to be more focused on the presents and gifts rather than Jesus, our true saviour.
Thank you to everyone who made Carols by Candlelight this year a success. Thank you to everyone who came and contributed and for the people who bought refreshments. Thank you to our musicians who played, the music is now available on YouTube here and will be available on stores later.
We pray for all the people in the world who don't have anyone to celebrate Christmas with and for the homeless. We pray for Firm Foundation who are helping the homeless especially at this time of year and other organisations helping and serving the Lord on Christmas Day. We have a service every year on Christmas Day at 10:30am to anyone who feels like coming. We are welcoming to all, we hope to see you soon.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone here at Culver. We hope to see you in the new year and our next Carol Service.
